SWTOR - Join Us!

Postby Niduyam » Thu Nov 24, 2011 2:42 pm

Update 14/12/2011:

Removed unnecessary information in this post. The guild will be set up on Frostclaw EU. It's the most populated PvE server that isn't infected with non-English speaking nationals (read: retards), though it has a lot of British and Scandinavian players so it's probably full of dicks anyway (meatballs meight xD).

When you're in the game, whisper or send a mail to Aveira. In order to set up the guild we need four of us online concurrently and in a party; level doesn't matter at all. We need to organise a time where as many people as possible can be online. From Saturday onwards I'll be available for pretty intensive sessions, but ideally we can get the guild made before then.

That is all, meatbags!

--------

Update 05/12/2011:

The guild didn't deploy since we didn't have enough pre-orders. We'll form the guild instead on a normal server and let everyone know what's going on. I'll probably be on as soon as the early access starts on the 15th December, so I'll get all the guild stuff sorted and update everyone.

To elaborate on a few details about the guild:
  • We're called Meatbags Meight. If you don't get it, see the fifth point.
  • We're going to play on a Frostclaw EU, a PvE server.
  • We're going to be playing Empire.
  • We're going to be casual!
  • We're only going to accept certain people who were a part of the guild before or during early Icecrown Citadel. *
  • We don't have any plans to raid at the moment. **

* This guild isn't a free-for-all like Element became around Ulduar and beyond. We only want a certain personality type: one that fits in with the original Element. For those who raided with us during The Burning Crusade and before, you'll know exactly what I mean by this. This isn't an attempt to exclude people, but to try and return the guild atmosphere that we used to have. To clarify the point further, we're only looking for members who were active in the Element community before and leading up to the cessation of our twenty-five man raiding. You may bring friends with you and have them in the guild, so long as you vouch that their personality will fit in with the guild. Also, Hummel explained it pretty well without the political correctness.

** We don't have a full idea of who will be playing with us in Star Wars: The Old Republic yet. At the moment there are four of us who will definitely be playing with quite a few more being likely. Raids in SW:TOR are either eight or sixteen player groups and it's hard to comment if we'll have enough of certain role types. Aside from this, several people will be playing SW:TOR and holding up a raiding schedule in WoW (enjoy ToC v2 meights xD), so scheduling may be a problem as well. This doesn't mean it's off the table though! I really want to try out the raiding in SW:TOR, especially since I've now quit raiding in WoW. I'll be pushing to try and get a band of eight meatbags together to (probably) faceroll over the content, though there's no guarantees that it will be possible (or faceroll).

--------

Original message:
Hello, is anyone there? :(

Star Wars: The Old Republic is going to be out in less than a month's time, and quite a few of us who are still playing World of Warcraft are planning on giving it a go. Over the last few years a lot of us have gone our separate ways, and it'd be really nice to try and get as many people as possible back together in something fresh.

Most of us won't be able to play as much as we used to, though that doesn't mean raiding is off the table. There's nothing to commit to though; the main purpose of having this guild is for social reasons. Obviously many of us have other commitments that prevent us from raiding like we used to, and we haven't really discussed whether we'll engage in raiding yet (though I imagine it's pretty likely if you're interested).

Anyway, if this sounds like something you want to take part in, go to http://www.swtor.com/guilds/276735/meatbags-meight and join up. Ideally it would be nice if you could pre-order the game too, so that we can transfer the guild across when the game goes live (though I don't feel we're going to lose the guild name, somehow).

Hey Nid,
I'd love to check the game out, I'm extremely anxious about it as well (been like that for the last few months), so this is the next MMO I'm planning to commit my time to. Point is - my PC is kinda old and outdated, so I'm waiting for the release to check out the trial version. If it works reasonably well, count me in.
Thanks a lot for posting this. If at some point (hopefully soon) it becomes possible for me to join, I'll definitely give you a shout.
Cheers.

Yo Nid!

I sure as hell will play this. I quit wow over 8 months ago and not missing it a bit. (especially not pandaz and pokemonz)
But I do miss MMOrpg type of game and well lets say I have already preordered swtor some time ago and just this weekend I will be testing it in the biggest beta weekend test so far.

Aaaaanyway, I would really love to join You guys, BUT...I am planning to play Republic fo sho, cause I just always dreamed about playing a Jedi Knight so thats where my first steps will go. In addition to that I kinda like the PvP there so far..and I dont think it will be like in WoW..."hey there is a horde dude!..umm so what i need to dig out this artefact anyway." So i will go for PvP server and see how it goes.

I am taking three weeks of vocation off work starting the day I get early game access until like few days after new years eve and I will just give it a blast. Same as Rift. Get to top level fast and get together with the best ppl on the server, form some guild and clear as much server firsts as possible.

So to sum up..will play, starting on PvP server though and for the Republic.

In case I change my mind I know where to find You guys :)

So have fun with this, screw pandaz they sux and "May the force be with you"...or whatever the Sith say as an equivalent..

EDIT: PS...HI STARCAT!

I always dreamed about playing a paraplegic, homosexual Wookie. Shame. :(

So yea, back to topic, Ranaeri has a group of 6-8 people, Nid seems to have a few and others want to play too, if we all wish to play together we need to sort out where we're going and with which guild.

assuming the game works for me (I signed up for the beta so hopefully I'll know soon) - no, not really. I mean...I'm kinda tired of playing the "good guys" so I'd prefer the Empire (especially with the whole Sith mentality, code etc.), but the Republic has some interesting stuff too. from what I see now, there's not a single class I wouldn't want to play, at least for the story.

now, since I've always enjoyed the Element community, I'd prefer to go with the group. but the group is at the "we're trying to form a guild" stage, so we'll see how it goes.

I tested republic knowing i want to go sith, Sith Imperial Agent Sniper BRAAAAA

So i tested a Jedi Knight Sentinel to get some insight to the game without borng myself out of the Sith before release.

My GTX card is really shit model atm, my better one blew out, graphics scenery change was a little choppy on my 8800, but when my new PC arrives on the 14th, i'll be set to go!

While testing i went down the lore path, listening to all the speech, because i wont be while leveling for real. Was a really nice couple of hours, LONG but enjoyable.

I want to go republic and Jedi Knight when the game comes out. So I tried the class to see if i made a good choice and it will be good to play for. I skipped all the story things so I dont spoil the story totally. Playing it everything on full with 70 fps or so. Level 18atm, just finished Coruscant and heading for my second flashpoint, which is Hammer (the gravity cannon station thingie).

Only thing I lack for now is some self healing..at least a little little bit, other than that, I expect ppl will have a go at me a lot to tank stuff as a jedi knight guardian..but screw them! I wanna deepee ess..and if that blows I will just roll Consular and go Sage to heal shit again...

EDIT: Trip...Sith Imperial agent Sniper looks like the most booooring class in the game. Seriously.
